Rules
By participating to Renoise BeatBattle 5 you acknowledge and agree with the following rules.

Participation
- BeatBattle 5 is open to all registered and demo users of Renoise
- You have total freedom over style and genre as long as the song fits the theme
- The song must be e-mailed before June 2nd, 0:00 CET to: beatbattle at gmail dot com. Subject: [bb5]Artist - Title
- We will accept one song per author
- Collaborating is allowed - the entry will be considered as from a separate author
- Renoise Team members are allowed to submit songs, but will not be able to win prizes

Instruments
- Your song must be playable in Renoise 1.8.0
- You are allowed to use the contents of the sample pack
- Rendering and recording are allowed
- Usage of Renoise's internal effects is allowed
- Usage of MIDI, VST and VSTi is allowed if the output is rendered down to samples
- The submitted song will not contain MIDI, VST, and VSTi Instruments
- All samples are either your own work, compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 License or part of the sample pack

Copyright
- The song will contain strictly original work: no remixes, covers or adaptions; the sole exception being the samples
- Your submitted work will be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 License
- Your song will not contain any material that does not allow to be licensed under the aforementioned license
- You agree with your song being publicly accessible. You allow your song to be shared and edited.

- Enter your name and song title in the Song Properties
- File format: Renoise XRNS or RNS
- Maximum filesize: 5 mb (5,242,880 bytes). Tutorial: how to shrink your song
- Tidy up your song and remove any unused instruments

Judging
- Songs will be judged by participants, public visitors and Renoise Team members, hereafter known as "judges"
- Judging criteria are in the following order: 1. theme representation 2. composition 3. mix and sound quality 4. tracking technique
- Judging consists of giving the song a rating and optionally a comment
- Depending on the number of ratings and comments a judge has given, the judge's influence increases
- The final rating of a song will be a weighed average, taking into account the influence of each judge
- The higher the final rating, the higher the rank; top ranking songs win prizes
- Attempting to manipulate the ranking with malicious intent (hereafter known as 'cheating') is strictly forbidden

- Entries that do not satisfy the rules or are otherwise unacceptable will be disqualified
- The organisation of Renoise BeatBattle retains the right to revise or update the rules at any time
- Neither the organisation of Renoise BeatBattle nor the Renoise Team can be held liable for any damages, physical or intellectual, related to Renoise BeatBattle
