We need a really good demo song for when Renoise 2 goes public. One that makes you say: "Wow, that wasn't possible with Renoise before!"

Round 1 is over, with Mr Mark Dollin winning the compo with his 66 KB song called Ghost Debt. Congratulations! To the contestants, thanks for your participation. Check out the winning song together with the other songs on the compo page.

Round 2 is also over! This time we preferred more focus on the music itself and less on technique and experimentation. Bonus points for live instruments and usage of the delay column. The results is 3 new demo songs from Keith303, and Benefit of the Boomerang and nt (Gilli).

If it fits in 1500 KB and doesn't have the sonic anti-quality of early 90s Darkthrone that sounds like they stuck the amp in their poohole and recorded it from a helicopter in the middle of the ocean, please do.

I actually even didn't finish listening the track because it ate all my CPU and Renoise decided to shut up.

Thats indeed something we have to consider when selecting demo songs. The lighter they are on CPU, the better!

I actually think it's not that good idea releasing your songs in here before the end of compo as it may actually have negative impact where people start thinking "Hey it was so good, I could never do something like that".

I listened to the track render... It's not so good IMO. I like other tracks by mr mark dollin much more. :)

I am very optimistic in this aspect. Ever heard of the pygmalion effect? If Foo set the bar this high, I expect the others to match or exceed it.
