im really enjoying it...
i was offline most of the summer, didn't get a chance to submit anything...
my top 3 : the tracks by Gnomcorps (can anyone translate the voice samples ?) , UncleC (gonna check the xrns out)) and Moss
and special mention for brian lutes (takes me back to my ninja tune/mowax fandom days
No, I'm not Bogdan Raczynski but however I wrote this tune as part of a project to remix a tune in the style of my favourite producer, so I was trying to imitate Bogdan.
The original tune was composed by good friend of mine: DJ Mark C check it out here. And I suppose its a remix of a lady saw track called "Walk Out" although really we just ripped off her vocals.
Bogdan Raczynski Rules!!! I believe he uses impulse tracker (Which is well out of date and in my opinion obsolete). He deservers much more credit than he's given, he's a musical genius.
I have been using trackers since the old Amiga 500 days, (octimed Pro), Then Fast Tracker 2. But whith the introduction of DSP's and VST instruments they became a bit obsolete. When Renoise came out I was very excited. I now use it along side Logic, Reactor, Ableton and any other tasty bits of software I can get my hands on (Legitimately of course!!).
The track I entered in to this competition was solely composed on Renoise though. I'm a bit reluctant to release the XRNS file as there are some techniques I've developed in it that I'd like to keep to my self. Sorry about that.
It did take me a month or two to write though.
Check out some of my other tracks on my website: http://www.futuremowgli.co.uk/music
Thanks for the complement,
Future Mowgli

P.s. I am very impressed with the production quality of some of the entries to this competition, Top quality skills and some excellent tracks. Big up to all who entered.
