  1. What exactly do I get when I order the full version of Renoise?

    Check out the Registration Benefits. Once registered, you get access to Renoise Backstage, where you download your personal version of Renoise. You can also request priority assistance, vote for new features and opt-in to newsletters. You login to Renoise Backstage with your username and the password in the registration e-mail.

  2. How long is the registration valid? Do I get updates for free?

    You get free updates for one full version number, so when you buy Renoise 1.9, you get all versions until Renoise 2.9 for free.

  3. I registered a week ago. Where the [...] is my password?

    After the transaction has been succesfully completed, you will receive an Order Invoice / Receipt from SWREG. Wait for another e-mail from renoise.com, because that one contains your password. To download your personalized full version of Renoise, use that password to login to Renoise Backstage.

    Depending on your spam filter, the e-mails may have been blocked. If you cannot even find the e-mails after searching your spam folders:

    • put renoise.com and swreg.com on your whitelist
    • generate a new password (username = name that you used to register, eg. "John Doe")
    • check your e-mail again

    If all fails, contact us. Include as much relevant information as possible.

  4. I do not have a credit card. How can I buy Renoise?

    There are other payment methods as well. If none of them work - you can still order using credit card of your brother, sister, father, mother, relative, friend or cousin (or anybody else). Order using his/hers card and give him/her cash. When they order they need to fill in the details of their own, but you can still leave your e-mail address.

    When you log in to user pages later - you will be able to set your own name so the credit card name doesn't matter. We have to verify this information though - so there will be a short delay. Once this is set, there are no further changes and you can use your account as you like. If the card name is your own, there are no delays at all.

  5. My credit card does not allow me to complete the transaction. What is wrong?

    Some credit cards do not support online transactions ('No Card Present' transactions).

  6. What is Renoise's actual price? Are there any postage expenses?

    Renoise costs 49.99 euro excl. VAT and RBS if you are paying by credit card. If you are using PayPal, wire transfer or check there are some transactions costs. The actual price is displayed during the transaction and on the final invoice. Furthermore, banks may charge you for cashing checks or sending and receiving wire transfers. Paying by credit card is the cheapest and the fastest way to get Renoise.

    At this time Renoise is only available as a software download. There is no boxed version, so neither are there postage expenses. You receive a password by e-mail, which you use to login to Renoise Backstage.

    A boxed version may or may not become available in the future. Eyecandy and fanboyism aside, we do not see many benefits, but we do expect added costs and risks. Maybe we should make a printable DIY kit available ;)

  7. I need help with the transaction process

    Go to the order form. This leads you to a secure connection with SWREG, the company that handles payment and registration for us. Fill in the card holder's details and enter your e-mail address. Select the payment method. In case of a credit card, enter the card details and it will be charged right after the process is completed. If you are parying by a check, wire transfer or something else, you will be presented with an invoice. The invoice tells you the exact amount you need to send and where to send it to.

    After that just wait for your registration to be confirmed (instantly if using a credit card). You will receive it by e-mail. Do not forget to check your spam folders as well. Should any part of the process be a problem, we are glad to be of service.

  8. What is my VAT Number?

    The Value Added Tax (VAT) ID number applies only if you are placing a business order for a business in the European Union that has a current VAT ID.   9. Can I use my personalized version of Renoise on more than 1 computer?

    There is no limit to the number of computers you use your personalized version of Renoise on. However, by 'use' we do not mean distributing your copy via warez sites and p2p networks. :P

  10. Can my personalized version of Renoise be used by others?

    The license is bound to a single person, the licensee. Your personalized version of Renoise is only to be used by yourself. Sharing (eg. p2p, warez) your personalized version will violate our terms and invalidate your license, which means you are no longer registered and no longer able to login to Renoise Backstage. Keep your copy of Renoise off the internet! Check your p2p share folders.

  11. Do I have to register separately for each platform?

    No, you are already entitled to install Renoise on all the platforms we support. That means, when you run Renoise on Windows XP, you are also allowed to install the Linux version on Ubuntu, for example. The license allows you to run your personalized version of Renoise on any platform, on any computer. However, you must be the sole user at all times.
