I want sync a Drumloop sampleplayback with BPM Value instead of Patternlenght. How can i do this? Vst’s scale with BPM Value, but Drumloop does not.

Hi, Windows 10 Enterprise Edition… 10th gen Core i7, 16 megs ram, ssd… Renoise 3.3.2

Dragging VST3 effects to the track can be done, but it doesn’t seem to be smooth, and sometimes it doesn’t work, and I have to select the track in the mixer and double click on the effect

Hi there.

I have been trying to use Carla v2.3.0 VST on Renoise for windows (on Windows 10) but it seems it is not detecting it correctly. Instead of showing the different list of carla plugins in the list, it shows just the shell file (it uses a shell vst file system, similar to Waves plugins). If I try to load it it just crashes Renoise.

It shows and loads fine in any other DAW or VST host I have tried (for instance, Kushview Element or Waveform 9 and 11.5).

Carla by the way is a very interesting and useful open source plugin host with both rack and modular functionality. So it could be a really useful “addon” to use in combination with Renoise.

The thing is I have been reading here in the forum about people talking in relation to it working through wine in the linux version of Renoise.

So I would like to know if this is something that is not working only for me or is it something that needs to be fixed in Renoise for windows ?

Hola…

Whilst not a dedicated renoise tip-app it is certainly HANDY for ALL TRACKERS…

I have found it a real handy app for REBIRTH…To keep track of blocks-progress…

It is a Text Editor for Musicians…There was a commercial & a freeware…

This is the freeware & actually has all that I need…

Hello,

I’m using Renoise with VST instruments. When editing, saving, replaying over and over again, at some point I can hear an extra tones, that are not in my song. It’s like you play a piano and somebody comes to you and press some key randomly while are you playing. It’s very annoying. After I stop playback, cancel record mode, and play song from the begging it’s gone. After some edits, it’s back again. It looks like a bug. How ever it is long term problem, so I’m wondering if anybody else experiencing the same issue. Could it be any problem with settings vs HW?

A track made completely with renoise.
I used two synth parts from my bassstation2 and 3 instances of suppermassive.
Apart from that, everything is samples and renoise stock effects.

Hey Pals, i need your help without searching this forum, sry for that… but maybe the answer is really simple (btw, iam an old grumpy man - check deepsid/hje for example ) - bought some new hardware - so, the hardware has limited midi controls - especially speaking here for the td-3… so, how to record my live “playing” in renoise with the track i did for the td-3? Yes, i sampled that one, but thats not the same on another instrument… is this a limitation on reason? I use the Steinberg UR22 MK2/asio… so, do i have to “background” another programm to record the “live recording”?

Hi,
I want to try out DJ Swivel’s The Sauce but the UI goes all black when I use it in large projects (=using several GB’s of RAM). And it crashes Renoise, when I close the UI or release the plugin.

I think the mpReverb uses lots of delays to achieve a reverb tail… Maybe using less density, it could also be a really nice sounding smear and stereo spread device. Just a bunch of parameters might be missing then.

I created this thread for all people who want to post their mix checks or not yet perfectly crafted songs, different versions of a song, made in Renoise or any other DAW, to borrow an ear from the other users in here.

Please feel free to repost or delete your posts as you like.

Only the following rules for posters:

• Put your version(s) within one post using a embedded player (e.g. soundcloud)
• Shortly describe what you tried to achieve, for each version
• Short info which DAW, maybe what headphones and speakers, too

Rules for listeners:

• For listeners, be polite, formulate critics in a factual way, also add something what you like
• For listeners, also post your listening setup, speakers or headphones

Feel free to add any other info, of course. The more you add, the more interesting it might be to mixcheck your tunes. Only one version is ok, too.

Hi,

I have an APC40 connected, which I use for Grid Pie and some other midi mapped things like filter sliders etc.

I have an Novation ZeroSL which I want to use only for 2 instruments, I send midi cc’s and notes to the instruments and that works fine.

The problem is, that when I push a button on the APC40, a note on/off is also sent to the instruments which I only want to use with the ZeroSL controller.

Is it possible to tell Renoise to only accept midi notes from the ZeroSL for the two instruments?

I’ve tried setting up the APC40 only in the preferences window (midi input) and the ZeroSL explicitly in the intstrument midi setup. But the instruments still respond to the APC40.

I hope somebody can help me out, thanks!

Okay, so here’s my problem:

I can’t load up Rave Generator 2, not just in Renoise, but in any DAW I try to load it in. Whenever I try doing so, not only does it just refuse to load, but it makes the DAW in question start acting weird whenever I try to close it. I literally have to go to the Task Manager to close the DAW.

However, it USED to work, until I tried to load in my own samples (Rave Generator 2 has a feature where you can essentially use it as a rompler). After I did that, it stopped working, and I bet this has something to do with why it doesn’t work anymore. I’ve looked for people that have had issues with this VST similar to mine, but to no avail.

I just want to know how I could possibly fix this. I’ve gotten into contact with the maker of the VST, but communication has been a little slow, and I have no idea how to fix the issue.

Hello, I occasionally get some warnings indicating that a Voxengo plugin crashed Renoise with the following statement:

Warning Message: IMPORTANT: This is a fatal error. Please save the current document under a !new! name to prevent losing important data. Renoise will silently ignore any following errors from this plug-in.
Warning Message: DO NOT IGNORE THIS ERROR; DO NOT CONTINUE USING THE PLUGIN. THIS CAN DESTROY YOUR SONG OR CAUSE OTHER RANDOM CRASHES AND PROBLEMS!

Should I get concerned? It happens rather sporadically, no biggie and hasn’t caused any real issues so far, but the warning makes it sound pretty serious. Happened to me when using VariSaturator and TEOTE. Upon reloading the project, I continue to use the plugins and see no negative impact whatsoever.

Renoise had poor graphical performance on macOS ever since I switched to Retina macbook a few years ago.
When I was on 10.14 Mojave, setting a tick to run app in ‘low resolution mode’ helped without making app blurry (it looked pixel perfect). However, it looks like filtering algo was adjusted for Big Sur, and Renoise is now unusably blurry in low res mode.

Luckily, I found a solution that makes Renoise perform well without low res mode, and even with HiDPI support on – you just have to switch display profile from ‘Color LCD’ to ‘sRGB IEC61966-2.1’, that’s it!
If you have several profiles called ‘sRGB IEC61966-2.1’, choose one that shows ‘/System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/sRGB Profile.icc’ path when hovered.

Tested with Renoise 3.3.2

When using Acon Digital’s Convolve VST (bundled with Acoustica) I get cracks and pops at relatively low CPU usage, even less than 5%. This doesn’t happen with other VSTs, where I can go a lot higher before any crackling occurs.

Steps to reproduce:

1. make a track with a sample that produces sounds
2. put a few (3+) instances of Convolve on it

It can be a send too.
It happens with both VST2 and VST3 versions, although I mostly tried with the latter.

Windows 10, Renoise 3.3.1, Acoustica 7.3.9.
