Serato Sampler issue
I installed Serato Sampler and it shows up in Reaper but not in Renoise, I had this before with a few samplers not showing up in Renoise.
Is this a known issue or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

Rust Belt - new(ish) from I.D. Crisis
I think I forgot to upload this link when I recorded this tune a couple of months ago. It’s a dark ambient number.
Let me know what you think. Cheers.

Sample alias slice options menu?
Hi, Can someone direct me to where to find/how to get to these Sample Slice options with transpose etc mentioned in this post.
I have a sliced sample prepared, and am triggering the slice with the Sxx command successfully, but now can’t seem to see where these other options appear (with hang up, transpose etc) the posts says "If you now open the Instrument Settings tab and choose the Sample subsection, you’ll see that there’s an entry in the sample list for each slice. "

Some 909 from my roland R8M
Here are some samples from my roland R8m dance card ( 909)
Calling the R8m just a sample based machine wouldn’t do it justice since the samples have a low and high parameter ( for transient attack and body ) and a whole bunch of others features to taylor adjust you samples .
It was the techno machine from the 90,s …YUY
I tweaked the parameters to get some additional snares and kicks ,and ploink stuff
R8m 909.xrni (2.9 MB)
Anyway , these samples will give you a taste of the R8M-dance card

Problems with not found Waves Plugins after restarting Renoise
Since Renoise supports VST3, i reinstalled all my Waves plugin just in VST3 format. After rescanning the plugins they all work fine. But after i close and reopen Renoise, it can’t find all the Waves plugins anymore when loading a VST inside a project or after loading a project where these plugins are used. But they are still shown in the effects plugin choosers in Renoise. Everytime after closing and restarting Renoise i have to rescan the plugins folders again to make them working again. In all other DAWs i use they all work fine without the need of rescanning the plugins again. This problem just happens with Renoise. So i think it’s a possible bug in Renoise. In VST2 format they all worked without problems in Renoise. This just happens with the VST3 versions. This just happens with the automatic rescanning on startup disabled, even when the plugin already were scanned and working before closing and restarting Renoise. I had to enable this option again to make them work again after every restart of Renoise.
latest Renoise PC version 3.3.2, 64 bit (installed on a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250 GB).
latest Waves versions 12.7 (64 bit VST3)
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
32 GB Ram
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core CPU (8 Cores/16 Threads)
Roland TR-8S used as USB audio interface (ASIO)
all drivers are up to date

"Render slices to phrase" different in Renoise and Redux
The Redux version sounds more quantized and the numbers look rounded compared to Renoise. Am I missing some setting in the plugin?

Redux bug ( shift for chords )
When holding shift to enter chords , when the first note is entered it will advance to the next step , only then it will enter the notes on the current line .
This bug is only present when notes are entered from left to right
Example , hold shift and press Q,E,T ( note c,e,g on qwerty ) , when q is pressed it will advance to the next step >the it will enter the notes on the same line ( E,T )
Doing it in the reverse order T,E ,Q it behaves as expected ( all notes are entered on the same l
Edit ;only happens when Q (c on qwerty ) is first note ; just hold shift and press q several times , it will always avance to the next step

Passive cooling gpu for fast screen updates?
Any thoughts?
Some backdrop information:
Currently i’m running 1950x cpu with plenty of ram and Radeon VII.
2560x1600 screen. I have to sell videocard to get some money. What Gpu you can recommend without performance problems? I prefer Amd production.

What is the quickest way to move from the note sub-column to the fx sub-column without a mouse?
Hello all,
I’m creating some fun breakbeat music in Renoise, but have run into a sticking point. When I enter a note, I’d like to move to the fx column of the note I just entered so I can do some sample offset entry. I’ve tried pressing Shift + the note but then it creates another note column. Using just the arrow keys is a tad slow because the fx field is the last one on the right.
I understand I can press Ctrl+0 to prevent my cursor from going down to the next note, but I’ve not found a shortcut that will send me between the various sub-columns of note, volume, pan, delay, and fx. Like a more granular tab/shift+tab functionality. Does such a thing exist in the stock Renoise? Do I need to modify the program in any way?
Thanks!

Any plans for MPE support (ie: recording the midi messages)
The question has been asked multiple times, but now the big guns (well… ableton…) has full MPE support, I thought it was a good time to ask if it was of the roadmap.
To be fair, reanoise does sorta work with mpe with a little midi mapping… however it has a very limited amount of simultaneous midi it can record.
So basically you can play crazy stuffs with the sampler… but it’ll only playback portions of it.
Are there plans to increase the automation recording abilities on renoise ? Maybe outside the tracker interface (like the rest of the automation)
Thanks a ton

Easy way to get the latest microsoft c++ redistributable update?
I am unable to run some plugins , latest chow dsp tape model and a bunch of others
This is because of an outdated microsoft redistributable package , altough renoise does not give any information about it
I have all these packages installed , is there an easy way to get the latest version so I don’t have to worry about incompatibility issues ?

Is there a way to apply Autofade to all samples in the list? I've already destructively rendered them as samples
Very new to Renoise. I know I can go through the list and tap the Autofade button for each sample. Is there a way to apply to all?

Can Redux use MIDI velocity levels from Logic to determine playback volume of individual slices?
For instance, can I have the same slice play back several times at different volumes based on the velocity of the MIDI notes in my piano roll?
Basically trying to play Redux like other instruments. Thanks.

Row Highlight with Mouse Over
I lately realized that i would find it much more to select lines, if hoving over them would automatically highlight/select the line. The way it’s just to hard to make out the line, if the row would automatically be highlighted, then you could simply check the the Row number on the left.
Also automatically selecting the different GUI elements by simply hovering over them (matrix, row editor, etc) like in Radium would be bliss.

Several questions on slicing and utilizing breaks in Renoise
Hello all,
I purchased Renoise some time ago and played around a bit, but am trying to make a more earnest effort in learning about it. I have a few questions about chopping drum breaks specifically. If it helps or means anything, I came from Ableton.
Firstly, what I’m doing is dragging a .wav sample into the top right, going to the sampler view, and slicing approximately every 1/8 note. Once I’ve sliced it up, I right click and press “Render Slices to Phrase”.
My first point of confusion is that sometimes when I press a key (say, Q (which is C4?)) the entire break will play, and other times only a slice will play. I want only slices. I’ve begun selecting “Keymap” near the keyboard and phrase area at the bottom, thinking that would make the keys play just a slice but that does not always work either.
(?) What should I be looking at, or have checked off, to see when pressing a key would play the entire sample or just a slice of it, after I’ve sliced it to phrase? I go to enter notes in edit mode and it’ll either enter slices or it will enter the entire sample at various pitches depending on the key.
Secondly, when dragging in my amen break, I was easily able to speed it up to 165 bpm. Sounded awesome. However I have a break that is at 175 bpm, and was going waaaay too fast. It would play at normal speed at 87.5 bpm.
(?) How can I begin to match my break tempos up more accurately so that they match? Is there a “double the length” button, like Ableton? I pressed the sync tempo button to the left, but it did not seem to change anything on the 175 bpm break (but I’m sure that was me messing up).
Finally, do I need to always slice my sample to phrases to get them into the editing view? Or am I engaged in a totally arbitrary step? I am going off of a video on Youtube so I’m not sure what’s necessary vs. what others happen to do.
Finally, what’s the major difference between Space and Enter for playing? It seems to me like space is play whatever is in the Edit menu, and enter plays whatever is in the Phrase menu. Is there more to it?
Thanks to whoever read all of this, and especially to anyone that answers!
EDIT: Some more behavior that’s odd. my 175 bpm break only sounded appropriate in the phrase editor at 87.5 bpm, but then only played from the edit menu appropriately at 175 bpm.
