Renoise not following System Dark Mode
Hello,
hope that’s a easy one to fix.
Mac OS is set to Dark Mode and I’m also using a dark theme on Renoise.
When using plugins the title and bottom bar of the plugin window are bright white. Most plugins nowadays are also rather dark, so it kinda looks odd and distracting.
Also all file dialogs for open, save,… are bright, so I assume Renoise simply just doesn’t follow system settings in that regard.
It probably isn’t just a switch you enable in the code, but I guess it can’t be that hard to change that. It would be really nice

Renoise for ARM64, PLEASE!
Hi. I’m really enjoying my Raspberry Pi 400 (with 64-bit Raspberry Linux OS) computer lately. I am even considering to stick to this computer exclusively and only! Because everything works (even my Bluetooth controllers and USB audio interface). I’m leaving even Mac(s) (after using them exclusively for nearly ~18 years now).
I can pay twice for Renoise, but this: make it ARM64 ready, please.

Multi-channel audio file
Does the API currently recognise audio files that have more than 2 channels (i.e. 8/16 channels) - can it read a file header and decide what to do with the data?
The idea being that you could load a multi-channel file and split it into separate instruments.
cheers

Gleetchlab 2021
I just found this piece of software, and thought fellow Renoisers might also dig it. It’s like a DAW without a timeline or sequencer. So far I’ve managed to make some interesting textures from existing samples, which I then import into Renoise, so I’m not really using the "DAW"capabilities yet, but I can see how it could be used to create a while track. It’s a lot of fun! Enjoy

Are you ready to
dance?
Ready to swing,
Ready to sing:
“Rock the jingle-ing!”
Ready to twist,
Ready to shout:
“Rock - Your - Boat”,
Rock it all about?
–end chorus
Music loud,
lipstick on,
number one,
without a doubt.
Ready to go,
Ready to take,
Ready to show,
Ready to make…
Are you here to
dance,
ready to shake,
get musics bliss,
get in a trance?
Let’s go! Let’s
dance,
mister or miss,
move it all around,
move up to this:
Get both arms up,
then turn around,
put your arms down,
and make a sound.
Are you ready to
jump?
Give it a blast!
Look to the future,
forget the past.
Are you ready to
dance,
ready to function,
ready to fail,
but then prevail…
Are you going for gold,
would it be diamonds?
Are you gonna grow old
and do your homework?
Find out a new move,
make it smooth,
turn to the groove…
Have you got Bluetooth?
This speakerbooth,
turn it up loud.
Make mamma dance.
Make daddy proud.

[API ERROR] LFO device, parameters 1,2 & 3: the correct value_min=-1
R3.3.2 (or old versions), W10 x64
In the LFO device (for Track or FX Chain Instrument), the parameters (with index 1,2 & 3) return an incorrect value_min:
- Dest. Track: the .value_min return 0. The correct value is -1.
- Dest. Effect: the .value_min return 0. The correct value is -1.
- Dest. Parameter: the .value_min return 0. The correct value is -1.
From a tool, if the .value of the any of these three parameters = to a value <0 then Renoise will crash!!!
Regardless of this triple value_min error, Renoise shouldn’t crash this way.
If a tool returns a value outside of a valid range, Renoise may drastically disappear from the screen, triggering a serious crash.

Buggy rewire transport RENOISE+TRACKTION
Question about maybe command
When the maybe command is 0y00 in the global effects collumn it works as mutually exclusive .
But for this to work , the indiviual y commands ( note lane ) has to be set to anything other then 0y00 otherwise it won’t work .
I am aware that 0Y00 has zero change of triggering , but when changing it to 0y01 (for individual lanes ) the global effect command works .
I find this strange behaviour ,
Would,t it be more accurate that the global 0y00 command (mutuall exclusive mode ) always works regardles the individual y value ( in the note effects lane ) ?

Renoise on Raspberry Pi 4?
Hello! I’m curious if there’s been any updates on Renoise being compiled to run on Raspberry Pi 4 on Linux yet?
I did some searches in the forums here, and while I found a few old threads on the subject from 2019 and earlier, but I didn’t see anything new about it, unless I missed it somehow?
I have a Raspberry Pi 4B with 2GB RAM running Retro Pi, and was able to get OctaMed4 for Amiga running on it pretty well, with a little work. See the photo I sent. There’s even an 8 GB Ram PI version out now, although, I’d think Renoise wouldn’t even need close to that much RAM?.
It would be fantastic if this is possible? Any new information about this by any chance? I’d buy a another Raspberry PI, with a mini touchscreen just for Renoise almost like a Polyend?
Thanks!!

the problem with the perfect match of the samples in schism tracker
Good day. I have a lot of samples, but Schism Tracker only has 64 lines, and most of the samples are very long and I can’t connect them perfectly with them. How to properly organize the connection and smoothness of long samples on such a small looping track?
And I almost never guess the right tempo and speed for a certain sample to match my project perfectly. It was neither short nor long.
And the next question … When I change the notes of the samples, for some reason the speed changes at the same time, but I do not want to change the speed! It is necessary to change only a simple sample and everything … ((
I’m sorry to write here. I only downloaded this first tracker yesterday, but I did not find a solution to these problems, as well as normal lessons on this tracker.

When using sends the audio is interrupted
When using sends in 3.3.2 for mac I noticed that when turning the sends on and off via the FX column the audio is not as smooth when switching and I get some clipping sounds.
Why is this happening?
I’ve attached test XRNS file

Pizza Street Beats
Hey guys, i haven’t uploaded in a awhile, but I’ve finally made some more progress on the LP. With the fourth track.
So the theme of this song was basically an advert in the Midwest and specifically in my state, Missouri. I remember when this ad used to come on all the time when i was little, so i decided that to be the thing the song would be based around.
You can find it here: https://youtu.be/8Jq5Ihox0wM
There’s a show that, when i was little, used to watch on the local tv network Qubo, which has now been canceled, called Pecola, and i also wanted to use some elements from that, so you can find the theme song here: Pecola Intro - YouTube
If you want the renoise file, either for samples, remixing, anything like that, you can find it here: Pizza Street Beats
Here’s the stems also: My Files
As always, feedback is always welcome, whether it be mixing, compositional choices, or something else, feel free to speak what’s on your mind.
I’m not sure what I’ll do for the next song, but i think I’ll try to make something a little faster, thanks for reading and taking the time to listen and i hope you enjoy.

Script to Batch Export .XRNS
Hi, I am trying to take a large (>1000 item) list of .mod files and export each one to .xrns using the
renoise.app():load_song and
renoise.app():save_song_as
functionalities. It works successfully for a single song, but when I try to do it iteratively in a for loop the saving part is so much faster than the loading part that it always saves the first song loaded with the new filename.
I think what I need (and I’m totally not sure, this is my first time using Lua or Renoise) is an observable that notices when load_song has finished. I couldn’t find such a thing in the API. Do you have any suggestions?
Many thanks!
