Missing first hit instrument-phrase bug?
In a track I have different drumkits of breaks with phrases on them and when I jump from lets say “808 drum Z01” to “thing break Z05” the first hit of think break wont land in time or it kinda sounds muted (but only the first hit… then it sounds normal). Its curious that this happens only when changing from this 808 drum phrase to other drum (instrument) phrase. I think this began to happen after I used ghost notes but then deleted them(?. Anyway, thanks for reading and happy tracking

Ardour 7.0 Released
the open source cross-platform DAW
This caught my eye because it adds “clip launching”
Probably the biggest visible change in Ardour 7.0 is the arrival of “clip launching” similar to the workflow pioneered by Ableton Live and now also provided by Bitwig, Digital Performer, Logic and others.
Clip launching allows you to experiment with combinations of various loops and one shot samples, with all sound appropriately (but optionally) time-stretched to fit the tempo map of the session, and start/stop quantized to the groove.

Synthmaster 2 player vst2 crashing while searching for new vst
I just tried installing the windows vst2 version of Synthmaster 2 player (without the nks support extension checked during installation) (SynthMaster Player Mac/Windows/iOS) which is free today and unfortunately after installation, Renoise can’t seem to initialize it during vst scan. It keeps crashing at every scan until I get the message that I need to delete the failed cache .db file for it to be scanned again.
Log doesn’t say much;
VstPlugs: Trying to instantiate D:\PROGRAM FILES~SOFTWARE~FREEWARE VST(I)~FREEWARE64\SynthMasterPlayer.dll

I can start the standalone application without any problem.
edit;
at the first vst scan run, a window popped up where you must input the registered email address and serial number. I think I’ve clicked the option to send the license file to the registered email address. After clicking through, the scanning hard crashed / Renoise disappeared.

Redux Phrase latency when audio is bounced
Hi
I’m pretty sure it may be something I’m doing wrong, however I have noticed the audio is nudged after the grid if I bounce audio when using phrases.
Windows 10 DAWs tested Live 11 and Bitwig 4.4
I use keymap to select the phrase. If I use the slice direct on the piano roll for example d3 then no latency

Korg m1 vst GUI broken
I’m attempting to use the korg m1 vst, but the GUI is broken and I am unable to select anything.
This happens on a new project, without changing any settings. For whatever reason, only a thin strip of the GUI is visible. When it is first opened, it appears in full for a moment, then quickly disappears/scales into a tiny strip. I have tried using the m1 vst with and without auto scale on hi dpi screens, although I am using a 1920x1080 monitor.

Rebirth RB-338 Kinda/Sorta Emulator
Spent some time this AM doing my best to remember how that software got me hooked on those sounds back in '98 or '99. I found an 808 sample pack that sounds pretty darn close to the software’s 808 sounds, and I spent some time trying out different waveforms until I got close enough to the software’s sound. Has a 303 Square and a 303 Saw.

Update Midi mapping to include more items
It would be great to be able to change a vst’s program preset via midi for macro knob configuration and, the ability to map knob encoders to edit waves.
(If this is already possible I may be just unsure of how to setup these actions).
