Native Instruments VSTs unresponsive behaviour

November 15, 2020 - 12:24

Hi everyone!
As previously said by few of the members,NI plugins are not really responsive, and I have faced this (like trying to swim in the pool of honey), but yesterday I have tried to manipulate with the sound in Massive X and not been capable to move an axon of the line (see attachment)

I’ve tried to switch colour profile (workaround for UI lag) shrink the window…
Doesn’t help anything

Redux 1.1.4 fails to scan in Bitwig 3.3 (OSX Mojave)

November 15, 2020 - 02:35

I just updated to Redux 1.1.4, and Bitwig (v3.3) fails to scan it successfully. The following pop-up warning appears in bitwig, and if you do not hit ‘skip’, it goes on forever.

I’ve had to revert to 1.1.2 as a result. This system is on OSX Mojave.

⮚ Renoise 3.2.4 and Redux 1.1.4 betas released (fixing blank window issue with OSX Big Sur)

November 14, 2020 - 21:36

… the builds are tagged as betas in the Backstage at https://backstage.renoise.com but will be released as they are as final versions.

They only do fix compatibility issues with OSX Big Sur which got released yesterday.

There’s no need to update on Windows and Linux.

The “missing” Renoise 3.2.3 release never was released, as it only contained a fix for a ASIO driver issue in Renoise which didn’t affect many users. Sorry for the confusion.

We actually didn’t planed to release yet another bug fix release, but wanted to go ahead with Renoise 3.3, which still in the making and to be announced soon

UI Scaling Issues

November 13, 2020 - 22:51

Hi all, wanted to settle down and spend some time trying to learn the program but I’m falling a bit at the first hurdle as I can’t get the text in the browser, menus etc. at a comfortable size to read.

I’m on a 1080p screen and the 150% scaling is juuuuust too small for my eyes not to feel strained pretty quickly. 175% looks like it’d be perfect but with that the bottom of the screen gets chopped off, like so:

I’ve messed around with the Windows 10 high DPI options in the program’s compatibility settings in pretty much every combination, as well as even trying the global Windows scaling options as well as those in the Nvidia control panel, with no luck. I find it weird that it’s scaling fine horizontally but not vertically… Maybe there’s a clue in that?

If anyone has any ideas they’d be gratefully received

Mindsync - Renoise Projects (Digital & Vinyl releases)

November 13, 2020 - 12:53

Hello,

I have an alias Mindsync with most of the stuff composed in renoise (with self created hardware recorded samples mostly, and often synced with hardware)
I’ve setup a bandcamp page to put unreleased stuff as a free download for all.

This is the latest release “First Projects” all composed in renoise:

The first release was a vinyl split ep with a guy from ukraine (motoblok) on “Subsonic Records 005”

Discogs Mindsync / Motoblok - Subsonic 005

Label: Subsonic (4) - Subsonic 005 • Format: Vinyl 12

Hope you get the chance to sync in and enjoy.

Peace.

What are your most used / favourite keyboard shortcuts for Renoise?

November 13, 2020 - 12:29

Hi
What shortcuts have you become a Renoise super user with?? For me, control clicking on a note to show it in the instrument panel is super useful, as well as control + P for paste indefinitely.

Whats integral to your Renoise flow??

Multi CPU/Core description (CPU -> Threads?)

November 13, 2020 - 06:43

I have found the description CPU to be actually Threads in the Multi CPU/Core support combobox in the Preferences.

My processor has only 6 cores, but 12 max. threads.

These 12 threads are listed as CPU (see image).

Should have been named “CPU Threads” or “Threads”?

@taktik @dblue how about it?
