Phase Plant Audio Unit - Can't Resize
This isn’t a huge deal but interested that it only happens in Renoise. Phase Plant cannot be resized as an AU, only as a VST. Tested in Logic and Reaper as AU, resize works there.
Cheers!

Can a vst/au plugin instrument be LFO'd up in Renoise so that a LFO will control a plugin parameter?

Ringmod in sampler modulation loading old tracks won't work in renoise 3.4.1
Loading older tracks, ringmod in sampler modulation won’t work, it is still working with earlier versions, 3.3.1.
It was a great tool to give some character to sound. 20 yeras with renoise but I can’t reconcile that good features have been constantly removed.

Midi Mapping Bug on Transport Loop
On the transport loop button I don’t seem to be able to actually set up a Trigger option and have it function properly. I select the Trigger option and it shows Set on the Midi Mappings dialogue box. The gate option works ok but then I have to hold the button on my midi controller. The play and stop buttons do not have this problem and allow me to set up a Trigger.
Transport:Playback:Loop Pattern [Set]': [Cha10 / F#4]
My Used Midi Mappings:
‘Transport:Playback:Stop Playing [Trigger]’: [Cha10 / E-4]
‘Transport:Playback:Loop Pattern [Set]’: [Cha10 / F#4]
‘Transport:Playback:Start Playing [Trigger]’: [Cha10 / C-4]

Multicolumn Bug when Drag&Drop midi from VST or Explorer since 3.4
- Brief description: When dragging and dropping a midi file from a VST or from Explorer that has more columns, it only loads 1 column.
- Steps to reproduce: When I load a chord progression midi, with 3 notes on 1 line. Or when I drag&Drop a chord prorgression from a VST.
- Expected results: The chord progression should open in 1 track over several columns.
- Actual results: The track only gets 1 column, and does not load the other notes on the same line

I'm making a Renoise specific DIY keyboard. You guys have any tips for it?
While I was making a custom mechanical keyboard for a friend, I got the idea that I could make a Renoise specific keyboard. It would be a standard USB HID keyboard with CherryMX style switches and a nonstandard layout.
I repeatedly get lost anyway when inputing notes on a qwerty keyboard as I’m a hobbyist and I use Renoise infrequently. I know there are several options from marking the keys, practicing, using a midi keyboard… I want to see if something neat/useful/fun pops out of this.
For size, I aim for 5 rows or less in height, and not wider than a full sized keyboard. I want to put it under my normal PC keyboard without rearranging my desk.
This abomination is the first draft that I made:
A started with this diagram which highlights the note editing keys.
I rearranged the note keys so the top rows are a bit offset. I left out the keys which do not correspond to notes as this isn’t for typing. I also added a hexadecimal numpad, which sounds useful to me but might be an unnecessary gimmick. The rest are just sprinkled around at the leftover spots without a strong concept behind.
I’m also considering making it a 2 row keyboard instead and use my regular keyboard for the keys that do not fit.
The layout/design is very much in a state of flux. I wanted to throw the idea out there early to get some insight from you guys. Thanks for any tips in advance!

Clicking Pattern Sequence Matrix - Default to NOT Multi/Drag Select
Is there a way to make it so clicking in the pattern sequence matrix will “Grab” a pattern at first click instead of initiating a Drag/Multi Select? With just about every other GUI interface if you want to multi select you hold down shift. It is kind of annoying it defaults to this behavior.

Net::err_cert_common_name_invalid
When I go to https://renoise.com/ the browser is complaining about a privacy/cert problem.
The forums aren’t affected.
IS THIS A NEW LAUNCH?!

Questions about functionality before purchasing
Hi!
I am very interested in purchasing Redux to use in conjunction with Ableton Live. In this reddit post the OP mentions that there is some difficulty editing phrases because they begin on the first MIDI beat which sounds like it can make editing phrases at certain points difficult if it is not lining up. Wanted to clarify if there is a work around, if this has been fixed, or if this is not as a big deal as it seems to be.
Second, I wanted to see if I could get a direct answer about MIDI out functionality ever being implemented so that Redux could be chained or trigger other plug-ins/hardware.
Thank you.

Capture / Retrospective MIDI Record
There’s one thing that I’m really, really missing from other DAWs and that’s the ability to not care about hitting record (I like to compose most of my music by recording live performance parts).
I’m not exactly sure how this would be implemented best in Renoise, but I’m thinking of a constantly recording buffer and the same way Ableton does it (Capture Notes)… Maybe others could chime in on exact implementation. I just wanted to throw this out there, as the one and only request I’d have for the next milestone of Renoise.

Modifier key to put multiple samples dragged into Keyzones editor into single note
Referring to a question I posted earlier, I’d like to use modifier keys when dragging samples into the Keyzones editor, to have them placed on a single key and optionally (by using another modifier combo) have them sorted into velocity ranges on that same key.
Suggested behavior:
- Hold CTRL while dragging multiple samples into Keyzone editor to place them on the same key
- Hold CTRL + SHIFT to place them on the same key and automatically arranged into velocity ranges.

Trying to get to grips with basic edit operations
I’ve had Renoise for I guess ten years but always put it aside because I didn’t find it intuitive to do basic things. This time around I actually want to find out how to do these things, in as simple methods as possible, preferably using single-step operations (one hotkey combination and done). Here goes:
- How do I clear the current column that the cursor is in?
- How do I deselect a currently selected column?
- How can I clear the current cell including any effect parameters, without interfering with my clipboard?

How do I drag multiple samples to one single key?
Making a drum kit with several round-robin samples, meaning there’s multiple sample variations of the same hit, on the same key.
When dragging in samples, they always tend to be distributed over the whole keyboard. How can I have them on a single key without having to afterwards go in and change their Baset Note and Note Ranges?

Online private tutors for Renoise? Or In-person Los Angeles area?
I notice that there are on-line tutor session for all other DAWs. Through sites like Wyzant or Lessons.com you can pay a fee for private help. Is anyone willing to do that for Renoise? This could be a good way to make extra cash but i cant find anyone who does it.

Record notes plugin via OP-Z midi echo
Record notes Chordjam via OP-Z midi echo:
- load Chordjam in [slot01]
- Set midi routing in plugin tab [slot01] to [slot02]
- load VST in [slot02]
- select “OP-Z” in “output device” in [slot02]
- select “OP-Z” in “input device” in [slot03]
- in [slot03] set “assigned track” to record midi to track-xxx
- when armed, Chordjam output notes will be recorded to “assigned track” with no delay
Remark:
- I this case is use Chordjam, but any note generator plugin can be used
- Be sure that the midi in & out + midi echo is enabled on the OP-Z
- with “slot” I mean instrument slot
- track-xxx is desired track to record notes to, it can also be set to “current track”

An album of lyrebird songs that somehow turned into folky stuff
I recorded a lyrebird’s song with an old tape deck and when I listened back, the music was a combination of the lyrebird and whatever demos I’d had on the tape I recorded over. Not sure how exactly it all happened, a cosmic mystery for sure. The resulting music was a stream of short, folksy songs about ghosts and the passage or stopping of time.
