I’ve released a new single with a friend. We recorded outside while camping for a few days in the Swedish woods. We recorded like 5 songs. My friend is doing the rapping, I’ve produced the music and scratch. Album dropping January 2025. Enjoy!

I made an almost perfect recreation of the pattern font pre 3.0, it is based on Devin Cook’s C64 Angled, so all credits to him.

Improvements:

• Glyph differentiation
• Monospace and ascend/descend fix
• Grayscale hinting

I love when I find myself getting re-obsessed with renoise again

what do you all think about the repeater tool.
I love to use it, use it a lot all the time, but asking – when you hear it in a track do you roll your eyes and say ah this again, or do you find yourself unable to stop yourself from screaming PUT SOME FLANGE ON IT BROTHA

I’m playing through the original Demon Souls for the first time now using a PS3 emulator.

It’s a very good game, and nice to finally see where Dark Souls came from. The rules of the game are more clunky, but it didn’t take many hours before I was hooked. Sick art direction, not so good music, but that’s okay because it gives me room to listen to my unfinished Renoise-tracks while I’m playing.

Do you play computer games too?

Hi there,

Just got into renoise and I’ve got a 3rd party external computer keyboard to use keyboard shortcuts on my macbookpro.
There are home, end, pg down and pg up keys on the keyboard, but when I assign them to the shortcuts I get command + left, command + right, command + up, command + down. Is there a way to add these functions keys to the mac? I’ve found karabiner, but it’s more for mapping the laptop keys to functions, so that might not be what I need. Any ideas?

I’m quite often using the TAL Dub III Delay which is available here as a VST2 version (Find out more about distrho | SourceForge.net) for Linux. Strange thing is that it stopped working partially in Linux (running Ubuntu 24.04). The delay stops quite early despite a high feedback value.

Here’s a example file

The sound interrupts already at the ~4th lines. No problem in Reaper.

Can anyone test maybe?

I think this issue is common in older versions of Renoise, at least with Windows 10/11.

1. I have two monitors, 34" (1. 3440x1440px) and 24" (2. 1920x1080px).
2. In Windows I have the 34" as my main monitor.
3. I maximize the Renoise window (not full screen) on the 24" monitor.
4. I tell the desktop PC to go to sleep.
5. I start the PC from sleep.

The Renoise window gets bigger. It’s like it takes the resolution of the 34" monitor instead of staying in the state it was in before sleep (maximized on the 24" monitor).

I should point out that before maximizing the window, it came from a smaller surface size. It seems that Renoise does not handle changing sizes well depending on the situation.

After suspending a PC, Renoise should remain in its previous size when it is displayed again. When these things happen, I don’t use any undocked windows in Renoise.

Topic title sounds kinda foolish but I’m wondering:

Vst’s with sequences and midi inside of them like ezbass or microtonic aren’t triggered with midi notes/inputs…

Is there any way inside of renoise FORCING to trigger a sequence?

Explained:

now it’s following the host… Renoise… but I want it to be triggered with a “c” or “d” in the track inside of renoise at the place and time when I want it to be triggered.

Same @ Microtonic;

only option I have is to play ( follow host ) or stop ( not follow host)

Any help would be appreciated

Hi all,

I hope the Renoisphere is well

Recently, I’ve been trying to connect Renoise to DAW’s to do multitrack audio recordings. I found Rewire but then it turns out it was discontinued on all DAWs. Currently I dont know how do achieve this. My music is on Renoise, from the current build to about 12 years ago. It would be so amazing to spawn Renoise as a master of a Daw to record vocals and guitars of my band. Or use Renoise as a slave to achieve the same. The ultimate would be to route tracks from a DAW into mapped Renoise as tracks with play/stop etc control, which is exactly what Rewire was. However that is not possible apparently.

Anyway advice super welcome,

It’s annoying. It’s really annoying. I am so sick of having to disable phrases every single time when I load an instrument that has them.

It’s renoise, right? It’s still renoise, right? Having purchases renoise and downloading the renoise installer that installs renoise, it’s renoise right?
It’s not redux, right? it’s renoise? A tracker? With a sampler? And you put like, notes into the patterns? And then you play it cause it’s a tracker?

At least first and foremost? It’s not a phrase DJ, by default right? The main use case is not live performance for phrase triggering, right? it’s a tracker, yes?

To make tracker music, but modern? It’s not redux, they just share the sampler, right?

If this is all true then …disable the freaking phrases by default please, or open source renoise so I can fix it without having to learn reverse engineering as fun as that would be…
it’s faster for you to just disable it by default for renoise. That’s why the effect to steer phrases is separate and has to be entered manually to begin with.

So if you have to enter the effect manually to steer phrases, then don’t make phrases default onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnNNNNnnnNNnnNNnNNnnNNnnnNNNNNNnNNnnNNNnNNNnNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnn.

And to clarify the last spot.

Phrase selection is not an integral default column, but phrases are turned on by default.
To select phrases you have to use an effect…there is no delay column, volume, instrument or pitch column for phrases.
Phrases are not a default essential part of the pattern editor, they are delegated to an effect that one has to consciously and specifically enter.

This communicates that playing with phrases is not the first thought you have for the pattern editor in renoise.

And therefore making phrases on by default is BBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUULLLLLLLLSHITTTTT.
Please turn off by default. Please see the light. Please be reasonable. And consistent.
