Velocity Tracker Responds Incorrectly To Phrase Velocity Changes
The video starts off by demonstrating that everything works as expected in both the track effects section and the sampler fx chain when a phrase is not making use of the the sample number column.
0:32 - The phrase is switched to an identical version with the sample number column enabled. Now the Velocity Tracker in the sampler fx chain only responds to changes in the velocity column when they’re being used on the same line as an actual note. The exception to this is sample 0, which responds as it should.
1:13 - When the Velocity Tracker in the track effects section is set to respond to a specific instrument number, it instead responds to velocity changes from the numbered samples in the phrase.

Any Renoisers on Twitter?
That was an old previous post about this but seems that lots of links are outdated. Then better to create a new post.
So if you have a musical Twitter account, let’s be in touch!
Here is mine: https://twitter.com/Makeawishmusics
As that was said previously in the older post, this topic is not about the utility or not from Twitter, that’s another story ^^

Akai MPD232: SysEx data. Has anyone got the messages for the RGB pads?
Hello guys!
I’m trying to gather as much information as possible about the Akai MPD232 MIDI controller SysEx data. Does anyone have information to expand here?
At the moment, I have practically the control of the entire device, but I am missing everything related to the control of the RGB lighting of the 16 pads. Does anyone have information about it?
This is all I have collected:

RGB LEDS ???
What interests me the most are the SysEx messages that control the RGB lighting change of the pads. This is probably a string of more than 10 bytes, with 3 bytes destined for RGB color, probably 00 00 00 to 7F 7F 7F. I suspect it would go something like this:
- F0 47 00 36 31 00 04 01 ?? ?? _R _G _B F7 ➜ _R _G _B = (00 00 00 to 7F 7F 7F)
SysEx data may have things in common with similar Akai devices (MPD226, MPD218, or old models). Anyone have information on these topics?

Live reverse effect Help
Is there a good way to make a live reverse effect because I don’t like rendering individual sounds and reversing them. I was trying to test to see if I could create this by using a delay and modulating the delay time backwards. It sounds as if it is playing in reverse but I am not getting a consistent playback. Let me know if you have any ideas !

How to make those small robot voices from the 80's
Hello,
I put my question in Off-Topic Category but if there are Renoise answers (with working XRNS), it’s even better. So my question is about those small robot voices from the 80’s. I want to know how they were made with effects of that era. I know that it is not vocoders. But I’m not sure if it is octavers, pitch shifters, harmonizers, chorus, flangers…
Here are some examples. Can you help me? Thanks.
“Got it all together don’t 'cha baby”
"Ohhhh weee, you bugger. "
(here with a bit more effects but lyrics not found)

EDIT: To clarify, I don’t use ReWire and I am not interested in using ReWire. I’ve removed everything ReWire-related I can find in /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software and in ~/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software and rebooted, and this still happens.

How to install earlier versions?
Backstage offers a good selection of past builds, but they only appear to distribute .exes, and the directory structure of 3.3 is not compatible for example with the binary of 1.2.8 (the oldest available release).
I thought to try to download from the demo archive, but every build listed here Archived Releases | Renoise is a dead link.
Is there an official method for this I’m not aware of?

This song makes renoise crash after a while
Heya. I have a song that crashes renoise 3.3.2 on linux alsa and jack. Just load it, hit play and let it loop, and after a while it crashes renoise. Maximum 2-3 minutes play time, but for me until now it has always crashed after an unknown time, sometimes right after loading, sometimes later…
Please do not shoot me, I know it is the most stupid way to do sound synthesis in renoise. But I have many other projects, where I use the formula device normally, and they once in a while also crash the same way. Just this experimentation triggers the crashes reliably, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to report it as a bug. Also maybe someone likes and go lul. Is eeezy, n4tive fM sYNtH3s1z, bR0…

Applied acoustics multiphonics , gui bug when playing pc keyboard
Applied acoustics has released a modular which sounds pretty good , problem is when using the pc keyboard while interacting with the gui (even moving the mouse cursor across the gui ) there is a enormous amount of lag and sometimes note event’s are delayed becasue of this lag
Problem only exists in renoise , tried it in the free vst host cantabile ( with pc keyboard ) and everything runs smooth .
Already contacted the developer , but like I said …it’s a renoise issue

Shotgun Sound Effects All In Renoise
A follow up to the gunfight sounds I made yesterday, but this time with the project file!
The basic idea is to use DC offset to ping a sound (made easier with the instrument editor’s envelopes and such) and then mutate the sound with lots and lots of eq and various kinds of distortion. This was mostly done with modulating noise created by pinging the lofimat dsp. The cabinet simulators create some really interesting tones, the del dg-10 makes some particularly woody/plasticky sounding tones. You also need to make sure to use limiters because this can get extremely loud.
Play around with the parameters or try it out for yourself!

Render is wrong - why?
and
(difference are at the end of each pattern)
Small preview - first one is captured by Audacity and it shows how Renoise play song. Second one is render (no matter if realtime or not - effect is the same).
Plugin that makes problem is EntropyEQ (by Sonible) - both VST2 or VST3 version. And it happens always at the end of pattern!
Why? Is Renoise somehow sends something that may reset plugin? Because every wav Renoise render has patterns markers (regions) - maybe that produce something and trigger/reset the plugin? Who knows.
Why render can’t be the same as play? Render should be as reliable as possible.
