Sample-battle (#1)

Rules:
- Beat should be up to 2 minutes - or less - not longer!
- No VST(instruments) allowed (no sound generators except drawing sample within sampler, or chopping tiny oscillations from samples/drums)
- Nothing except provided material should be used in the making
- Material for next battle should be provided by the winner of the previous one. (within the new post on this topic
- Renoise should be the main daw
- Genre is not specified - and not important
- Share soundcloud link with the beat in the comment
- Vocals over track are allowed only if you record them (this doesn’t affect vocals within sample and drum breaks provided)
- Every other rule that is not mentioned - should be mentioned in .xrnns file as comment so everyone can see specific rules.

i find this the most compact way of sharing it, additional info and rules override can be written in the “comment” of xrns, deadline, etc…

This tool adds some assignable keyboard shortcuts under Global/Tools. These shortcuts are effecting only the currently selected note or effects column in a track.
The shortcuts are:

Repeat: The block of lines above the cursor is repeated until pattern end, starting from the currently selected line. For example you type in some notes or effects in line 1-7, place the cursor in line 8, and have the first two beats repeated. Notes and effects are repeated independently.

Increase/Decrease Instrument: Sets the instrument for a note column. Do it repeatedly, and you can simply browse through all available instruments for your song

Increase/Decrease Shuffle: Increases or decreases the delay column value of every 2nd and 4th line.

Rotate up/down: Rotates the column content up or down. Notes and effects are rotated independently.
I wrote these to speed up editing of basslines or drum tracks. As a Renoise noob I’m pretty sure I have reinvented some wheels, but it was great practice.

Serum or Massive X?

Maybe I’m missing something obvious…Most likely! But just to clarify is it possible to send multiple renoise tracks to reaper? And am I doing the correct thing by inserting a rewire input (Surely this should be a rewire ‘send’ or ‘output’??) as a vst in the mix window on a per track basis?
