Some vsts don't sound
I have a very strange problem (I had months ago, then I had solved in some way): I downloaded Monster Synth free vst, it was ok, every instruments sounded well. The day after, no sound for any instrument. I tried with other downloaded vsts, they’re ok. But the same problem is with Surge xt vst. Unfortunately, I don’t remember how I solved the problem, months ago.

New tool(3.4.2): Mosquito
Hello,
An attempt at 2 modulator FM for creating samples.
The basic frequency of the wave from the modulator is still modulated using the envelope.
Both modulators still have the option of feedback signal back to their input.
The full version so far contains 15 waves for each modulator.
It works to save both the envelope and the instrument itself.
The demo has only 4 waves and no load and save data.

Drone ambient albumn based on renoise ringmods
Hi All,
So I run my own netlabel trying to finish material made only with Renoise and release various types of music made with Renoise.
In this case a few pieces using Renoise ringmods, LFOs and delay effects, There are no softsynths in these mods, just native Renoise.
It’s known as the Cymatics EP because I tried to envision what these kind of things would look like on a Chladni plate but I don’t own one…

Using clap plugin format in linux
So there’s a new synth out in the wild https://nakst.gitlab.io/altitude/ which I’m using inside Reaper. But it’s only available in clap format, not as a VST or VST3.
I’d like to use in renoise, because it’s simple to use, looks great, sounds good and I like it very much.
There’s a clap-to-VST3-wrapper (https://github.com/free-audio/clap-wrapper) and it compiles without error on my linux system, but the GUI doesn’t work correctly and so I can’t use it in renoise, which is a bad thing.
So either renoise will support clap in the near future (which won’t happen due to a reduced renoise development team) or the plugin gets released as VST3 (which won’t happen due to limited funds of the plugin developer).
Maybe there’s another clap wrapper which works on linux?
thanks

Hold Phrase Tool
Looking for a tool that can hold a phrase and continue looping without having to hold the trigger note.
Being able to trigger the phrases IN the phrase editor(this might be a stretch though)
And lastly an option to send all currently playing phrases to the pattern editor.
Any takers?

Scroll Phrase Editor
Is there a way to have the phrase editor scroll when recording/playing like the pattern editor?

CDP Wish: A set of CDP functions that 'just work'
So, I gave it another whirl, it’s great, and it’s a major PITA
I got some to work, some are asking for external files, some just don’t work. Yet, there are sounds to be mined from this beast. I wish that these were simply Tools built-in to Renoise that work. Since y’all know me, I won’t use VST/AU, because I am a PITA I’m currently using this to create another album entirely from @martblek’s various Tools. It’s working.
BTW, I do own several plugins that do spectral/FFT processing, and yeah, I could use those. I’m not gonna. Renoise is my own little special sound-processing sequencing beast and I want it to be all-internal. The CDP Tool works as such. I truly dislike using external plugins - I enjoy the visual minimalism of Renoise. Gimme some sliders and knobs that match my color scheme, and yeah, I know that I could make the plugins look like that, c’mon… and yeah, CDP is external too. It shouldn’t be. It’s open-source now, I believe.
What would be nice is a CDP tool that would take each one of those _cdprogs and became something built-in to Renoise. Separate 'em, make better descriptors, with zero errors. Just to work on the sound in the sampler, not ask me for outside sounds or files. Helping us get us the sounds we want, right off the bat, so we can spend more time composing.
Ah, one can wish, no?

Detach instrument Editor and auto-show plugins
I want to use my other monitors, but there is one annoying thing.
When I detach instrument editor, every time I change instrument it appears on screen.
Some plugins have really slow GUI. Is there a way to prevent them for loading GUI until I press “External Editor” button?

Loading module hangs Renoise/crashes computer
Description:
Opening linked module liable to hitch on load or hang Renoise.
Opening linked module liable to cause computer to hard-crash (akin to power-cycle) after a delay.
Steps to reproduce:
- Load module.
- If necessary, reload module.
- If necessary, force-terminate Renoise.
- Crashing of computer may be observed after a delay of a minute or more.
Expected results:
Renoise does not hitch or outright hang during module load. Computer does not crash.
Actual results:
Renoise hitches or outright hangs during module load. Computer crashes.
Additional information:
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit, Renoise v3.3.2. AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB RAM.
- Module contains plugins Surge XT 1.0.1.60228e8 (64-bit) and sforzando v1.971 (64-bit).
- Abnormal behaviour was first observed after attempting to duplicate a Surge XT instrument caused Renoise to hang. Module suspected to be corrupted thereafter.

How do I switch instruments by clicking on a track
I recently reinstalled Renoise after resetting my pc and so I can’t remember how to switch the selected instrument by clicking on a track like I usually would. Could someone help me if they know how to do this please? I’m not sure if it was a tool or a toggle in the settings

Renoise Mutant Soundpacks - Synths
Hello everyone,
This month’s compilation of mutant renoise concoctions is based around synth-like instruments and sounds!
Basically, anything that isn’t a sub-bass tonal instrument/sample in renoise is game for submission (this includes mid-bass sounds)
My starting contribution is a little something I threw together just now – it’s kind of a hacky way of getting some feedback happening, without generating any actual signal feedback.
feedback_synth3.xrni (7.4 KB)
I’m having a hard time describing exactly what’s going on, but I’m planning on doing a video discussing this once I finish editing the other renoise vid I’m working on./
It’s really quite fun to play around with, and you can get a variety of very dynamic and “human” or almost waveguide type sounds. Please enjoy!

The 80s on Renoise
I am not quite ready to do this, BUT if anyone of you is able to do this I would like to hear it.
Can someone of you do Lionel Richie - Dancing On The Ceiling - YouTube Lionel Ritchie - Dancing on the Ceiling in Renoise?
This would be great!
If noone does it I will give it a try when I am ready. =)
By the way there were a lot of extremely great tracks in the 80s. How about a competition? Who rocks a song of the 80s best in Renoise?
Love,
Thomas

Macbook Pro M1 &. Airpods only mono crackling sound
Hi
I have the problem that only in Renoise the Sound from the Airpods (and possibly also the sound over HDMI) is only Mono and sounds like way in back and is crackling.
The Sample rate is 48000. And in OSX itsef the sound over Airpods and HDMI is nice and bassy.
But in Renoise it is terrible.
please , I need some advice =) If you need further information I am happy to provide it.
Ahh I tried something… I changed to the Macbook Speakers and schwupp the Sound was great and extremely faster and smooth… only on the airtpods and the hdmi it runs like on 8000 hz (or khz?) but I can only choose 48000 hz.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards
Thomas

Render multiple patterns at once? [NVM SOLVED]
Bonus: replace with new instrument and wnte c#4
Yeah, couldnt find a tool that could do this, but wondering if there one I missed that could take a bunch of patterns and render them all to separate instruments. Sometimes i I create multi-pattern passages with a VST but would love to be able to render down all of them for later fuckery.
It would be 2xs amazing if the tool could replace the entered notes with just a c#4 linked to the new instrument but thats pie in the sky thinking i know.
EDIT: Think this gets 99% of the way there. Only wish would be for each pattern to render to it’s own instrument.

Potenzial Render error?!
Hello!
I found a potential Rendererror in channel collapsed view. If i named the channels before and switch from normal into collapsed view around begin or end of pattern play there are some vertical lines drawing. I marked it in the screenshots. it happens only on renamed channels. Or is it a feature maybe?
happy tracking
